Here is a summary of all the sets. Traditionally, once the Little Builder finishes a model, he has a Technic Parade where he takes down every assembled model and lines them up. The picture is the latest version.
Teknikbrik - Big Technic Sets
A collection of big technic sets with big being defined as over 700 parts. There are 31 such sets so far that I have identified and I have managed to add most of them to my collection. I started off by defining big as 800 parts but there are a number of interesting sets in the 700 to 800 piece range and I re-defined it downwards. I have 26 of the sets so far. The Little Builder (Rishik, my eleven year old son) does all the building. These are the ones he has built so far.

Any list of Technic models has to start with this one. One of the first ones and also one of my first ones. Looks clunky from the outside but an impressive set of features on the inside - 4 speed gearbox, all wheel drive, 4 wheel steer, shock absorbers on all wheels...
8421 - Mobile Crane / Crane Truck
The biggest in part count - 1884 of them. The tallest one at over 60cms. It is the only one with both electric and pneumatic parts. A unique model in every way.
At 703 pieces was not on the old list but it is one of the good ones. A great pneumatic based model - 10 cylinders, 2 pumps and 8 switches.
Intriguing model breaks free of the world of cars and cranes into outer space. So does the alternate model that goes in the opposite direction - underwater.
A great set with the biggest set of wheels I have ever seen. Nice door opening mechanism.
Sequel to the Super Car. Looks better but no match in terms of the mechanics.
Long coveted by the Little Builder and finally got it for his 10th birthday. At 1877 pieces, the second largest set ever.
An under-rated set that just got on to the old list with exactly 800 parts.
First of the racers. Quite a long model and like the racer line long on looks and short on mechanisms.
Second of the racers. Very similar to the previous one.
From the racer line. Looks Good.
An unusual set. Comes with a video of the real vehicle it is based on. I could never get it to work as expected.
Quite an ordinary model in spite of being over a 1000 pieces.
I never considered the Racer line as a legit Technic set but the Little Builder wanted one as his friend had one. Since then, I have started buying the Racer line. Typical for this line, it is all looks and no fancy mechanisms. Nice swing-up doors though.
At 763 pieces, did not belong to the old list. I bought it when there wasn't much to buy. Not bad for a 'small' model.
A strange looking set with good pneumatics.
8479 - Barcode Multi-set
An oddball set and was on top of the Little Builder's 'To Buy' list.
8289 - Fire Truck
Has good mechanicals for a model that size.
8284 - Dune Buggy
Not too bad and should be part of the collection.
8275 - R/C Bulldozer(with Motor)
Has a comprehensive Power Functions parts complement including remote control.
8274 - Combine Harvester
A good addition to the farm machinery section.
8273 - Off Road Truck
8292 - Cherry Picker
An OK model.
These are the ones still sitting in boxes awaiting the Little Builder's attention.
8294 - Excavator
Newly released model. Interesting because of the debut of the linear actuator.
8416 - Forklift
Smaller model.
8868 - Airtech Claw Rig
One of the older models. The Little Builder refuses to touch this one. May have to build it myself or see if one of his friends is keen on building it.
These models are yet to be bought in the order the Little Builder wants them bought.
8297 - Off-roader
Eagerly awaited. Not yet available in Australia but can still be ordered from overseas.
8295 - Telescopic Handler
Unusual set already available in Australia.
8431/8438/8460 - Pneumatic Crane Truck
Oft released set. I have the instructions and may have most of the parts in my collection but does not catch the fancy of the Little Builder. May build it myself some day.
These models are in this category but neither the Little Builder nor I are interested in getting these.
8865 - Test Car
One of the early models. I don't think I will bother.
8145 - Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano 1:10
Typical Racer model - big, expensive but mechanically pretty basic.
8872 - Forklift Transporter
With two models in one barely makes it into this list.
